Inside the Apartment
An en-suite king size bedroom and twin (a superking can be requested) bedroom are located downstairs, along with a family bathroom (with a luxurious rolltop bath and separate shower).
A staircase leads up to the hallway (with separate toilet/wash facilities) and the very large open plan living area. This airy and bright room has large windows overlooking the grounds and the Ochil Hills beyond. The dining table may be extended to seat 10 and if you have also booked the Tower apartment upstairs, friends and family from both apartments can dine here if required.
Double doors lead off to the kitchen area (cooker/hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer) which is well equipped with plenty of dishes, pans and utensils.
Wi-fi is free although it has to be said that download speeds are slow in this area of Dollar.
Outside the Apartment
Dollarbeg Castle is set in its own grounds which are available for all guests to use. The area is very quiet and perfect for a morning stroll. For those who enjoy a good walk, there is a short cut to the main road which carries on to Dollar village. There is plenty of parking space.
Dollar village is only a 5 minute drive away. It has lovely cafes for either breakfast or afternoon tea. Evening meals can be booked at the Bridge Street Kitchen or at the King’s Seat pub.
Castle Campbell -Originally known as Castle Glume, the stone fortress dates from the early 1400s. Around 1465, it passed through marriage to Colin Campbell, 1st Earl of Argyll. The castle sits above Dollar village and its location is one of the most dramatic settings in Scotland.
Just a few of the places to visit…………..
Stirling Castle, the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, is just 20 minutes away.
Just outside Stirling is the National Wallace Monument - a must see if you’re in the area.
On the other side of Stirling is Blair Drummond Safari Park if you need to entertain the children!
Knockhill Motor Sports Centre ‘Home of Scottish Motorsport is a short 15 minutes drive.
Gleneagles for golf and fine dining takes about 30 minutes.
The Ballroom Reviews
My first reaction was wow, my second was wow, my memories are wow. Firstly, as two couples we had total privacy from each other which is nice. The comfort of the beds and bathrooms first class. Upstairs to the lounge and dining area just gave a feeling of space which the website photographs do not really give justice to. The kitchen with a 5 star welcome pack including a bottle of bubbly to kick off the weekend meant we had everything we wanted. Equipment and supplies of the highest order. I felt relaxed from minute one and just loved it. As I have family in the area I will be back and back soon. Only drawback is you would need a car as fairly rural. One night we had a Chinese delivery as we just wanted to eat in and experience it and the other out at Bridge Street Kitchen in Dollar. Tips: Gleneagles is a must. Lumia Spa in Bridge of Allan. A nice relaxing afternoon lunch at Airth Castle.

The apartment is finished to a remarkable standard. So much space. The main drawing room is huge, kitchen doesn’t just have everything, it has every little thing you could want, to the last detail in such quality and taste. Bedrooms are lovely, main bedroom is stunning when you open the curtains to look out over the gardens and the hills in the background. Bathrooms are beautiful, with nice touches and above all, everything was immaculate. I could go on for a while, but as we were leaving my wife said:It’s like Gleneagles, but so much nicer. Thanks for a great stay.
